Exploring Nature with Children for Homeschool - September 2025

from $5.00

There is a group class intended for homschooled students and families. It takes place every Thursday, rain or shine, from 11am to 12pm at Carter Falls in Elkin, NC. (EXCEPT SEP 11, which takes place at 7pm!). For September 4 & September 11 only, classes are 50% off and only $5!!

If you are interested in a Saturday or Sunday class, please contact us.

Each week covers a different topic and follows the progression of the seasons. It is not required that students attend every class to learn and enjoy this nature study. Each class includes a short group read & respond, viewing and responding to seasonal artwork, a short/easy hike, and a craft or writing project. Students will be provided a simple nature journal to record findings/notes. All students and families are invited to picnic for lunch after class.

For those that enjoy the class and attend regularly, it is suggested that you purchase a composition book for class. Alternatively, you can purchase the Exploring Nature with Children Guided Journal (digital) on Teachers Pay Teachers for $11, or the printed version from our website for $8. This guided journal includes activities for enrichment on days outside of class too, so you can use it to supplement your existing science curriculum if desired.
